Emily + Jonathan
Jonathan and Emily’s wedding was a great way to kick of the weddings for this year! I’ve been looking forward to it since I met with the couple last year, especially after seeing Jonathan’s work. I knew they had a great sense of style, and that it would be a lot of fun to capture.
I’ve also got to give a shout out to their DJ, Melody Nelson, who truly rocked it. She played all kinds of music that I personally know and love… but that I never hear at weddings. I wish I had her playlist, because I’d probably go out and buy all the music off it right away. I’m a big fan of French (though I understand none of it), and she had a healthy portion of really lovely French stuff that went well with the crowd and the space.
It all happened at The Foundry, one of my favorite places to shoot here in NY.
And while I’m posting, there’s a reception here in Brooklyn at the powerHouse Arena tomorrow night for the recent show by the brilliant photographer Boogie. While the content of his work certainly falls a long way from what I shoot, I’ve always been inspired by his intimate documentary work. More info on that here.

That’s Jessica of fleurs fixing Jonathan up. She did a really lovely job with all the flowers.
