Paxton + Tricia

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

I headed out with Paxton and Tricia during this last week to snap some pictures near their apartment by Battery Park. Tricia is expecting, and they’ll soon be moving out of NYC to be able to raise their kid closer to family (and out of the big city….), so it was fun to take pictures of them that will be a memory about their time here in the city. Here are my favorites from the session.

I end up exploring around Battery Park quite a bit, but I had never seen this awesome stone wall… Turns out it’s in their backyard! In the winter apparently water streams down it, and it turns into a sort of ice sculpture.

Sam + Leah

Monday, March 9th, 2009

I’m happy to be posting my first wedding of ’09! Sam and Leah had me prepared for a big party over at Stage 6, and it was a great way to get things rolling for this year.

They brought in a crew of Norwegian friends and they were the ushers. As you can see, they took their jobs very seriously.20090221-0482.jpg

Sam’s grandpa Peter officiated the ceremony. The ceremony and the things that Peter said were amazing, period… and the fact that it was Sam’s grandfather officiating really made it special.

As a part of the Scottish Knot tying tradition, Peter had them exchange their clans’ tartans during the ceremony. That’s Sam wearing the Johnston plaid, while Leah got the Maclean Tartan.

They took their guest book apart and put a page at each table. I thought that was a great way to give everyone a chance to sign something at their own pace.20090221-1111.jpg 20090221-1134.jpg20090221-1234.jpg

Amazing job on the flowers. They were done by Flowers, Sticks and Stones. I can’t find their website… but there’s more about them here.
