Kara and Darren had their wedding up at Sleepy Hollow Country Club. It was great to get upstate again for a wedding, and the space had a fantastic classic vibe for the wedding. Also, Jeff, the club manager was really amazing and definitely hooked things up as I was doing some location scouting before things got rolling.
I met up with the girls while they were getting ready. That’s Ilise Harris on the left, doing Kara’s hair and makeup (which she rocked).

Some details. They both work in the book industry (he deals rare books, and she’s in publishing), so they bound their programs inside pages from old books, which I thought was a great touch.
The rain was a bit of a bummer, but I felt like it did make things seem really cozy inside.
They had Michael Arenella & his Dreamland Orchestra play, which was a great match for the mood of the place, both musically and visually. I couldn’t help but snap a ton of pictures of these guys, and Michael later told me that they play at the Clover Club on Wednesday nights. I love the bar (some of the best mixed drinks I’ve found in New York), so I’ll definitely be swinging by to catch them sometime soon.
