Eileen and Mike at Ft. Hamilton.

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Here are my favorites from Mike and Eileen’s wedding this last weekend. It was a sweet day, and my first Brooklyn wedding of the year! Eileen grew up in Brooklyn, so it was awesome to shoot her whole crew getting ready in her mom’s house.

When I showed up, I saw these two amazing pictures on the dresser of Eileen’s mother and father from their wedding day. Check out that suit!

In the meanwhile Joao was hanging out with Mike, where he was getting ready at the church.

They hired this rad Cadillac for the day to get around.

Between the ceremony and the reception we headed on over to Dumbo. This is the exact spot that Mike proposed to Eileen last year.

At the reception, they had pictures of Mike and Eileen for the guests to check out.

They gave “Eileen and Michael” coffee to all the guests. I thought that was a great touch.

We put up a photobooth going during the reception, and the guests shot themselves.

Eileen, being a school teacher, brought some props from the drama department…..

Bridgewaters

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

Bridgewaters is a great venue in downtown Manhattan at the South Street Seaport. I love shooting on the cobblestone streets around the area, and once you’re up in the space, there are some great views of Brooklyn over the East River, and the Brooklyn Bridge.

The space is definitely among the bigger ones that I’ve seen in New York. They have a capacity for up to 2,500 guests (wow!). But because of the way the space is broken up, you don’t have to have 2,500 people to make it work. The wedding I’ve shot there have been in the range of 200-300 guests, and I think one of the things that the space is really conducive to is having different parts of the day occur in different sections of the space. The space is run by a really professional crew, headed by Cheryl, who I’ve always had good experiences with.

Here are some shots to give a feel for the raw space.

There’s a cool tri-level thing going on in this room. I’ve seen it put to good use for a cocktail hour. That’s the bar in the right corner of the picture.

They’ve got a really sweet balcony.

There’s plenty of room for dancing at Bridgewaters. This one is from Josh and EB’s wedding.
