Matt and Bella at Twenty Four Fifth

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

Bella and Matt really had a chance meeting. They both went to Israel with the Birthright program. On the flight over, everyone was seated alphabetically according to their last name. That put them right next to each other, and so the two strangers ended up getting to know each other on the trans-atlantic flight.

I was excited to be shooting their wedding at a classic New York spot: Twenty Four Fifth.

They were absolute troopers through the torrential downpour that we experienced during most of the day. At first it seemed like it was going to be a bummer, since we had scouted out a bunch of awesome locations around Greenwich Village. But in the end, it was great for the pictures, because we were able to basically take over the bar at the hotel and have a lot of fun shooting there.

Matt and Bella’s style really complemented the whole atmosphere. Matt rocked tails and a white bow-tie, and Bella had a dress made of feathers.

Michael and Dorit at Battery Gardens

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

Michael and Dorit’s wedding at Battery Gardens. These guys put together a wedding that was a real celebration. We started the day cruising around downtown and Chinatown, and then off to Battery Gardens for the ceremony. Dorit’s father officiated the ceremony, which added a really lovely intimate aspect. Afterwards their guests proves that know how to have a party. They finished things up in the afternoon with a Mister Softee truck outside serving ice cream to all the guests, and then we headed on over to the Ritz Carlton for a super rad after party.

Tom did a great job snapping pictures earlier in the day, and then manning the photobooth for the rest of the party.
