Ian and Julia

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

I’m back to New York and excited for a super busy June. I’m going to be on the road a ton this month, shooting in different spots in New York, and I’m glad to see that the summer’s finally hit the city. Ian and Julia were such an awesome couple to kick the summer off with. I headed with them up to Blue Hill at Stone Barns. That’s Dan Barber’s restaurant about 30 miles upstate. For a lot of people, the reputation of the food here is the draw. But on top of that, the location is amazing, and I especially loved Ian and Julia’s outdoor ceremony.

They walked each other down the aisle.

That’s asparagus covered in prosciutto and dipped in sesame seeds on the right there. Yes, awesome.

As the sun set everyone moved inside to finish the meal and the celebration.

Adrian + Samara

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

Here are some of my favorites from Adrian and Samara’s wedding at Blue Hill at Stone Barns. It’s an amazing restaurant… the upstate cousin of Dan Barber’s Blue Hill, complete with an onsite farm where many of the ingredients come from. This place was called by one critic “the most important and gutsiest restaurant in America right now”.

I got up there early and took some pictures while everyone was getting ready.

After the ceremony, the main focus, as you can imagine, was on dinner (and yes, I did get to snag a few of the amazing dishes for myself).

It was a fun challenge to shoot a wedding that didn’t have the usual dancing action.
