Meghan and Jonathan at the Church of Notre Dame
Thursday, September 10th, 2009It’s been a busy last couple weeks, and I’ve been chugging through the post production on some really fun recent wedding before heading out to Montauk tomorrow for Natalie and Dan’s wedding. So there are a bunch of new blog posts coming up, starting with Meghan and Darren. These guys had an awesome wedding at the Church of Notre Dame. There was a great DIY vibe to a lot of the elements, from Meghan’s veil (which she finished up while I was shooting the girls right before the wedding), to the reception itself, which a lot of their friends and family helped out with.
I had Joao second shooting this one with me, and I really loved some of the shots he got. He came with his 400mm lens… something he used to use while shooting soccer in Brazil, and got some great tight shots during the ceremony.
I started out at the church where Meghan was getting ready.

Meghan and her mom right before the ceremony.
For our pre-wedding meet up, I went to a mass at the Church of Notre Dame with Meghan and Jonathan. It was really great to have gotten a feel for the space and what to expect for the wedding. Recently, most of the ceremonies that I’ve shot are very short, so it was a great change of pace to have some more time to explore everything photographically speaking.

Loved the bow tie.

To finish off the evening, everyone danced the Virginia Reel.
and Meghan and Jonathan took off in a horse drawn carriage.
