Wow, all of the sudden, it’s been 3 months since my last post here. And it’s definitely not for lack of content. These last months have been super busy… In the best possible way. In addition to a ton of fun weddings, I moved to Greenpoint, had a bunch of editorial shoots on the road. With that the blogging just fell off. I just wrapped up my last wedding of the year last weekend, and I’m starting to catch up with everything from the end of the year before I head out to the Canary Islands to catch up with my baby bro (he’s studying in Italy this year, and that seemed like a good middle point).

So there’s a ton in the backlog, and I promise to share more here in the new year. In the meantime, here’s something that I’ve been wanting to throw up for a long time. It’s a job that I did for Life:Curated. We shot most of this in a single hard core day (but did end up adding a second day for the cover/back cover). All of the models are friends of the owner/creative director duo that runs the store.

Since their opening these guys have been killing it. I’ve been seeing them getting press all over the place, and their store is amazing. Definitely go check it out if you live in/find yourself in Williamsburg.

Anyways, here’s a quick peek at some of my favorite spreads from the book.

All Across the Blogosphere

I know that things have been a little quiet around here. A couple of recent weddings that I shot are under consideration for being published in national magazines which means I’ve got to hold off before I can put them up here. (I’m bummed too not be able to publish them right away, but hopefully I’ll have some tear sheets to post down the line!).

I’ve also been keeping busy with some non-wedding photography stuff: A recent shoot for the University of Colorado snowboard team, prepping for a job in Bhutan for Health Volunteers Overseas, a lookbook for a lifestyle store opening in my neighborhood, and another shoot for Indelible Dance.

In the meantime, though, the blog world doesn’t sleep, and I’ve been really thrilled to be hearing from a lot of different blogs about publishing my work. Recently I’ve been on Once Wed, Brides, Ruffled, Merci, La Belle Bride, and Hi-Fi. Thanks guys!

Sarah’s Danish Holiday Party

My friend Sarah is moving from Brooklyn to Copenhagen. I’ll miss her. We’ll all miss her. For her going away party I set up a photobooth, and seeing as Sarah’s a brilliant crafty kind of person, she made some props so we could all get into the Danish spirit.

Marcus and Kristin YouTube

I just got an email from Marcus of Marcus and Kristin. And I was really excited to see the video that he put together from his wedding at Queens Country Farm earlier this year.

He used a ton of pictures that I shot, mixed in with video. It always makes me happy to see a couple doing fun things with their pictures and getting the most out of them, and I love what he did with the music and the editing. For those of you looking to get a better idea of how I shoot, it’s also worth a look as you can really see how the day unfolded and a broader take of lots of pictures from the day.

I just found out that one of my pictures just placed in the Wedding Photojournalist Association awards. It was for a snap from Ravi and Laura’s wedding. I’m always stoked to get recognition from the WPJA, because they do such an amazing job of judging their contests. I’m always inspired when I see the contest results, and I love being a part of them!
