I was really excited to learn that this shot from James and Vivian’s wedding last year won an award in the most recent Wedding Photojournalists Association contest!

Paxton + Tricia

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

I headed out with Paxton and Tricia during this last week to snap some pictures near their apartment by Battery Park. Tricia is expecting, and they’ll soon be moving out of NYC to be able to raise their kid closer to family (and out of the big city….), so it was fun to take pictures of them that will be a memory about their time here in the city. Here are my favorites from the session.

I end up exploring around Battery Park quite a bit, but I had never seen this awesome stone wall… Turns out it’s in their backyard! In the winter apparently water streams down it, and it turns into a sort of ice sculpture.

Mom

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

I was just down in Mexico for a bit, hanging out with my parents and getting charged for the wedding season this year. It was an interesting Mexican experience for me. We stayed in a friends place in the middle of the tourist part of Mazatlan. Nice and relaxing, but a far cry from my college trip to Mexico, when I spent months crossing the country from north to south via bus, staying in the cheapest hotels I could find.

Back in New York, and my first wedding of the year was this last weekend… A great way to kick everything off with an amazing event at Stage 6. I’m just starting to sort through the photos, and I’ll have that post up soon, but in the meantime, a few snaps of my awesome mom from the Mexico trip.

To put it simply, I believe that the day of a wedding is full of great emotion and energy, and my aim is to capture it. I pride myself on my ability to blend in and capture images that tell the story of your day in a unique yet timeless way. I'm based in New York City, and while many of the weddings that I shoot are nearby, I frequently shoot weddings across the US and around the world.
