I met up with them the day before the wedding while they were doing a quick rehearsal. The wedding was at Miriam’s parents house.

Nice summer day for a dip in their pool.

Then we went over to the hotel in town where they gathered with a small group of friends and family to sign the ketubah.

Then outside for some barbecuing.

Classic 4th of July grill out. I want to know where you can get this tap/cooler setup with the american eagle.

Everyone wore nametags to get to know each other better.

Miriam’s friends threw down some Spice Girls dance moves as a throwback to their childhood.

The next day and back to the house to set things up for the wedding. Miriam’s parents are architects, and planted those trees when they bought the house over 20 years ago. Nice foresight!

It was the 4th of July. So they had their own fireworks show!

We headed out for some corn on the cob in Soho

So a little back story here. Last year, I shot Laura and Steve’s wedding at Bubby’s, and I blogged about their awesome first dance. Erin gets the credit for teaching them the whole thing. She’s runs a company called Start Dancing NYC , and they found her when they were looking to learn something special for their first dance together.

So naturally, Erin and Roman had to have a super cool entrance and first dance.

They both nailed it. Roman seemed pretty stoked.

They had this cool plate which they invited their guests to inscribe a little message on.

Now a couple weeks later, finishing up the edits on their pictures, it’s been great to re-live the whole weekend, and yet another reminder of how rad this job is…. having the chance to go out in the world and having a license to be a part of this amazing moment in a couples life. I’ve been listening to Ratat Classics this whole time (the album with the song they played for both their processional and right after the ceremony).

Putting together the words for this post has also been a reminder of what a poor writer I am (!) So hopefully the pictures can speak for themselves.

The next day I headed over to the Roycroft Inn while they were getting ready. Working out the details for the double windsor.

Austin Sellers designed labels for wine bottle and cookie boxes that they delivered to all their guests for the night of their arrival. They had a box of cigars with his designs on it too.

And then back to the Roycroft for the ceremony.

They surprised everyone with a karaoke machine for the last hour of the night.
